Getting Involved

Parents ... partners with the school

We encourage an active and healthy partnership between school and home. We encourage your involvement in school life. You can be involved in a number of ways. This could include:

  • Canteen volunteer.  One or two lunch times per term approx 12:30 to 1:30.  The roster is co-ordinated by a parent volunteer.
  • Participation in Parents and Friends (P&F).  The P&F meets every few weeks on Friday mornings in the Community Room.  Its role is to build community spirit and raise  funds for resources and infrastructure.
  • Working bees.  These are organised  when the need arises to address any small maintenance issues.  These are a great opportunity to meet fellow parents and are generally held on weekend mornings.
  • Helping in the classroom. Parents and carers are strongly encouraged to assist in the classrooms.  Examples of how you can be involved are: hearing reading, assisting with spelling words, cleaning up at terms end, and assisting on excursions.
  • Coaching sporting teams. The school offers a variety of sporting opportunities for students and is reliant on parent / carer support as a coach or manager. Each sport has a staff co-ordinator who works closely with and supports the coaches.
  • School Board.  The board meets twice a term on a Monday evening.

Please note all volunteers require the following:

  • A Catholic Schools Police clearance.  This is free of charge and is arranged through the school office once RAN training has been completed. Police clearances from other organisations may be acceptable
  • Responding to Abuse and Neglect training (see online instructions below). Certificates from other organisations may be acceptable.
  • Completion of the onsite WHS Induction.  Please see Office start to complete this.

Parents are encouraged to discuss any concerns about the school or their child's progress with the class teacher or Principal.
